Cyclones:
Utilising centrifugal force, cyclones within a tubing system ensure that solid particles are separated out. Cyclones are often used in industry to recover raw materials from the production process or generally to remove solid particles before recirculating the air. The range of applications is therefore accordingly wide. Our cyclones are used in the timber, plastics and tobacco industries, for example. Our standard cyclones are available in diameters ranging from 250 to 1000 mm with lipped connections, and with diameters from 1120 to 2300 mm with welded-on flanges. For diameters up to 1250 mm, the material thickness can be 2 or 3 mm, and larger diameters are manufactured with a material thickness of 3 mm. Cyclones are available in powder-coated, galvanised or stainless steel versions. Please note that cyclones are passive components. The way they work depends on the volumetric flow, the pressure loss and the material load and particle size.
The nominal diameters refer to the diameter of the cyclone body. The size of the cyclone inlet can be dimensioned with a diameter of between 80 and 900 mm.
The volumetric flow indicated applies for a flow velocity of approx. 20-24 m/sec in the tubing system at the cyclone connection. The separation rate and pressure loss were determined based on a material load of 1 kg/m³.
We custom-build cyclones according to your individual requirements and we also help you to select the right cyclone for the job. Further models and diameters are available on request. Please call us for further information.
